Our family eats mostly wild meat all year and this requires that I hunt for elk every fall. It has been a tradition for me to drive to the Kootenay country to harvest elk each year. Last fall after a good day hunting we were heading back to camp when we saw a big old pine tree etched against a gorgeous sunset. I knew this would be the inspiration for a creative idea one day.
As I took different photos of the tree it looked like the branches were many antlers of the great bull elk. It was so inspiring I could hear the bugle of hundreds of bulls over the many years spent in the wild enjoying the sights and sounds of the hunt.
I think the moon in late September will be the Moon Of The Bugling Bull Elk.
