Well this image has been in the works for twenty years or more. While I lived in Tofino fishing the local waters or just cruising was a passion for me. There were many times early in the morning or returning in the evening when the tide was low and the sand bar had many great blue heron patiently waiting for a meal. I used to think they were like people in the city waiting for a bus and it always brought a
smile to my face. I traveled to Eagle Aerie Gallery for the July long weekend
this year and was reminded of this scene. I guess I've been thinking about it since the creation of the print Tofino Sunrise this spring with the heron on the tidal flats. I always knew this piece would be done and now is the time to bring this one to reality. I've called this one Patience, as that's what I think of most when I see this bird waiting for a fish to swim by.
