Seven years of experiencing the sun and the rain, the storms of winter and the sunny days and westerly winds of summer left me with the realization that there is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. Some of my lifetime achievements and most treasured memories came from my time living in that small fishing village on the West Coast of Vancouver Island.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDuring the first week of September 1997, I returned to the beach on one of my many visits to Tofino and Eagle Aerie Gallery. It was Saturday, and the late afternoon was peaceful and clear as dusk approached. My excitement was high in anticipation of a sunset. It was not long before I found myself at the end of the beach with a camera in hand, attempting to catch the magic. I was standing in a cleft in the rocks watching the shadows lengthen with the setting sun. The tide was out, and the colors reflected in the wet sand. There were silhouettes of four people walking the beach, and their presence reminded me that I am never alone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlthough I do not live in Tofino anymore, I can visit often and enjoy the town, the people who mean so much to me, and the beaches.
