ROY HENRY VICKERS GALLERY

The Grateful Dead featuring our very own Roy Henry Vickers

Posted by on

Roy Henry Vickers has done it again. The secret project that the artist has been working on finally debuted this week. When The Grateful Dead asked Vickers to design their upcoming 19-disk box set, he was ecstatic. Vickers is a fan of the band for many years and working with them was a dream come true for him. After over two years of work it is finally finished. Pacific Northwest ’73-’74: The Complete Recordings features six unreleased shows as well as recordings from concerts in Vancouver, Portland and Seattle to name a few. The band thought it was fitting to work with an artist from the Pacific Northwest and decided that B.C.’s Roy Henry Vickers was the perfect choice. Working with the band on designing the cover of the box set felt natural to Vickers as he draws inspiration from the Pacific Northwest just as the band did during those shows from the past. The art Vickers designed for The Grateful Dead has a mix of traditional and contemporary art, which is Vickers’ signature style in his own limited edition prints. The box set will be released September 7th and will be a limited edition run of 15,000. For more information please check out The Grateful Dead’s website:
