- Story
Our children have grown up in the Skeena and Kispiox valleys and from an early age they have enjoyed having a fishing rod in their hands. Now that they are young adults, influenced and taught by friends, fly fishing has become a passion.
I am a proud father knowing that their love of nature, like the rivers, flows from the mists of time. Their love of the natural world comes from their ancestors, it is in their DNA.
The ancient name for the Skeena River comes from a word that translates to the English language as, “cloud waters”. The rivers come from the sky in the form of rain, snow, and mists.
My daughter, Grace was out on the Kispiox river this fall enjoying some time with her fly rod. A friend who was with her captured a photo as she stood in the flow with the landed shrouded by morning mist, a magic moment on a Misty River.
Thank you to John Forsyth who captured the morning magic with his camera.
