Artist: Roy Henry Vickers
Medium: Framed Block Mount
Image Size: 14" x 11"

I’ve lived my life on the coast of B.C. and had the good fortune to witness much beauty. My family crest is Eagle and they have given me much inspiration over the years.

During the late summer of 2019, I was enjoying an evening in Tofino with Andrea, my wife. We were having a meal at Long Beach Lodge overlooking the beach and a beautiful Tofino sunset. I took several photos and found one weeks later that inspired a memory.

I recall many magic moments with eagles through the years. Eagles during courtship, will fly high and then lock talons and tumble to the earth or ocean below. I recall one incident that stands out. It was a beautiful day in Kitkatla, my home village and two eagles locked talons and twirled around and around as they tumbled to the ocean below. They hung on so close to the water that when they let go they just skimmed the water as they rose to the heavens again. They flew off somewhere among the cedar trees and I was left with a beautiful vision.

Some 50 years later the memory comes to life in this fine art print entitled, Courtship.

Block Mount: High-quality print mounted on a 3/8” MDF board where a protective UV lamination is applied. Features a 3/4" black wood frame and a pre-cut hanger slot for easy hanging. (No glass).
