- Story
This past June, we had some friendly and curious bears visiting our yard. The first was a big grizzly that showed up in the same spot where the one visited last year, leading me to believe it was the same bear that had grown considerably. Throughout the year, we have had a sow and two cubs that grew up in the same area and became a little too familiar. Concerned over the safety of my family, I finally took to scaring them off with loud bear bangers, kind of like firecrackers. Now that the snow has come, they have all gone to sleep for the winter.
The full moon in June this past summer will always be known to us as the Bear Moon.
