Ninstints, now a World Heritage Site, was my first choice as a subject for “Portholes to the Past”. Its remoteness and the famous stand of old, weathered silver totems have long interested me. On my visit to Ninstints, I felt as though I was stepping into a cathedral. I was overcome by a feeling of awe and sadness. As I sat amidst the village's remnants, I was impressed and inspired by the power and majesty that remained.
