- Story
There are four clans in Gitxaala, my home village, also known as Kitkatla, B.C. All children are born into the clan or, tribe of the mother. I was born Eagle and it is the first of the series of four clans or tribes as they are also known at home.
My father, Art Vickers, was born under the Orca totem. We grew up loving to see the dorsal fins of the Orca as they came by to visit us in the village. There are many stories and examples of the #1 predator in the oceans of the world. I continue to thrill at the sight of an Orca Dorsal as it breaks the ocean surface.
