WHALE POINT - CONSIGNMENT #5/80

Edition Date: 2013
Artist: Roy Henry Vickers
Medium: Serigraph
Image Size: 27" X 19"

My first visit to Whale Point changed my thoughts on the ocean and our beautiful B.C. coastline. I listened to Janie Wray and Hermann Meuter talk of the whales that visit Whale Channel and the Inside Passage. I felt the passion and love of people who are determined to protect our beautiful B.C. coastline.

am moved daily to do what I can to bring awareness to the dangers of supertankers in our Inside Passage. They do not belong in an area that is home to these beautiful mammals that cannot exist in the presence of massive ships and their noise pollution, let alone dangerous cargo that they are proposed to carry.

Janie sent me this gorgeous photograph of a Whale Point sunset, inspiring me to make this statement for the whales. We must speak for those who cry from the deep. We are the voice for the whales, salmon, and all the life under the waters of our Beautiful B.C. Coast. Speak loud and clear. No supertankers near British Columbia’s Inside Passage!
